Pepperl+Fuchs Inclination/Tilt Sensors

Pepperl+Fuchs announces new inclination sensors designed to measure the incline or tilt angle of machine elements or equipment platforms. Inclination or tilt sensors have the capability to detect and measure the angle for single or dual axes applications. Designed especially for tough environments, the sensors feature metal mounting brackets, outdoor rating IP68/IP69K and analog outputs, 4-20mA or 0 to 5 V DC that can represent the user-configured angle range.

Applications include: mobile equipment, agricultural equipment, automated storage and all other inclination/ tilt angle measurement applications.

Product Features:

  • Angle detection
  • Angle measurement range 0 to 360 degrees
  • Incline angle sensing

Accu-Vue Series Fiber Optic Amplifiers

Pepperl+Fuchs announces product line additions to their Accu-Vue Series of fiber optic amplifiers.

Pepperl+Fuchs now offers fiber optic amplifiers that can be linked together to reduce wiring. The linked sensors share power, eliminating the need to individually wire each amplifier to a power source. This substantially reduces installation time. Up to 16 sensors can be linked together.

In addition, our new fiber optic amplifiers also offer two independent outputs. The amplifier can now be programmed to two different set points and trigger outputs accordingly.

G12 Family of AS-Interface Modules

Pepperl+Fuchs’ new G12 family of AS-Interface modules represent the easiest-to-install and most flexible, user-friendly family of AS-Interface modules available today. Eight distinct models are available with various input and output configurations, and short or long housing styles, to suit any AS-Interface application need.

“The rugged G12 family features SPEEDCON M12 connectors for the fastest possible installation of sensors or actuators, and a single rugged stainless steel mounting base that supports two housing sizes and various I/O mixes so users can quickly and easily change the I/O count without having to remount the base or cable,” says Helge Hornis, PhD, Intelligent Systems Manager for Pepperl+Fuchs. “Additionally, output-specific diagnostics are available right on the module and allow maintenance personnel to quickly identify and correct the problem for maximum machine uptime,” he says.

Machined, gold-plated contacts provide superior corrosion resistance and reliability when compared with stamped contacts plated with non-precious metals. An integrated DIN clip on the stainless steel mounting base means users don’t have to choose ahead of time how the G12 will be mounted, which speeds and simplifies planning, ordering and installation. In instances where the top-bottom orientation of the AS-Interface flat cable needs to be reversed, the G12’s unique single-piece cable guide makes it possible to do so without tools, in just seconds.

“I/O modules are the lifeblood of the AS-Interface system. All communication passes through these modules. They drive the solenoids and relays, initiate the valves and enable the pushbuttons. This is why we engineered the G12 family of modules – to thrive in today’s demanding applications with uncompromised quality and unrivaled performance, at a competitive price,” says Dr. Hornis.

Dura-Vue Photoelectric Sensor

Pepperl+Fuchs introduces a new addition to the Dura-Vue photoelectric sensor family, the MLV12-8-HW-RT/65b/124/128 diffuse mode with background evaluation sensor.

Background evaluation photoelectric sensors work by establishing a light path to a reference background object and back to the sensor. Targets are detected when they pass in front of the sensor and disrupt this light path. Rounded or curved targets that may reflect light away from the sensor and targets with poor reflectivity are also detected.

The MLV12-8-HW-RT/65b/124/128 photoelectric sensor features a visible red light source for easy alignment, sensing range from 50 mm to 150 mm and small 4 mm light spot. Other features include powerful 4-in-1 output, built-in, cross-talk protection and operation down to -40° F. All Dura-Vue models feature a rugged metal housing frame, high ambient light immunity, enhanced LED indication and IP67 rating.

New Reflectors Rated for High Pressure Washdown with Cleaning Chemicals

Like the ML7 series photoelectric sensors, two new reflectors are now available that also have IP69K protection and Ecolab certification. Both reflectors are corner-cube type and are suitable for use with polarized or non-polarized retro-reflective photoelectric sensors.

Devices compliant to IP69K must withstand specific test conditions of severe high pressure and high temperature wash down. The goal of this testing is to simulate the conditions commonly found in the steam cleaning of food processing equipment.

These two reflectors are also certified by Ecolab as compatible with some common caustic cleaning agents and disinfectants. Ecolab develops quality cleaning and sanitizing products worldwide. With their long-standing expertise in the food and beverage processing industries, Ecolab is best suited to evaluate the performance of sensors and reflectors with some common acidic and alkaline cleaning and disinfecting chemicals.
