All users of our website are able to obtain information about availability
and pricing on the products that Steven Engineering offers. In addition,
you can place an order even if you do not have a Steven Engineering
account. Orders may be placed online by using a credit card, your
Steven Engineering account, or by requesting a C.O.D. delivery.
Note: Steven Engineering's site has been designed to be compatible
with Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0
or higher. If you experience a problem with your browser, download
the latest version of Internet
Explorer.
Registration
Registering with Steven Engineering ensures a speedy checkout
for our online customers. During registration, you will be asked
to provide your bill-to and ship-to addresses, as well as a payment
method. Steven Engineering accepts all major credit cards, including
MasterCard, Visa, and American Express. If credit card is your method of payment, you will be required to provide us with additional information to ensure tight credit card security: Security Code, card holder's billing address, and issuing bank. We also accept C.O.D. or
open account orders. You will be asked to choose a Username and
Password, and each of them must be at least four alphanumeric characters
long. The Username will be unique to each user. By becoming a registered
Steven Engineering internet customer, you will not need to enter
any billing information or shipping information on orders that you
place with us.
Search for Products
To order, you will use the Search function to add products to
an order pad. Learn how to search for products.
Create an Order Pad
You can create an order pad and save it for future reference, or
use it to order immediately. At any point during the session you
can view, change, add to, or delete the contents of your order pad.
The Steven Engineering internet server will keep track of the quantities,
costs and your unique part numbers and line numbers for all the
items in your order pad.
You can include instructions on how you want your order to be shipped to you. Look for the editable comment box underneath your order pad called "Order Instructions". Use this field to type in any special requirements (i.e. packaging or routing) you need to inform us of about this order. Type your instructions and click the "Modify Order Pad" button to save your instructions." You can modify your instructions just by
retyping and click the "Modify Order Pad" button again.
When you have finished adding items to your
order pad, you have the option of either saving the order pad or
placing an order; see appropriate section below.
Note: To create an order pad and identify it as unique to you, the
Steven Engineering website uses a "session cookie" to
process your order. When you enter the Steven Engineering website,
a session cookie containing a number generated by the Steven Engineering
web server is sent to your browser. The session cookie is used to
identify your browser to the Steven Engineering website. Because
the cookie is unique to you, it ensures that your information is
secure and cannot be accessed by anyone else. Be sure that the cookie
session feature on your browser is enabled prior to placing an order
on our website. For added protection, Steven Engineering's cookie
session will time out after two hours of detected site inactivity.
Saving an Order Pad
Once you are registered as a Steven Engineering online customer
and are logged in, you have the ability to save an order pad and
refer back to it at a later date. After selecting items for your
order pad, click on the "Save Order Pad" button. A pop-up
window will appear requesting you to provide a reference number
or name for your order pad. You can save as many order pads as you
wish. To access your saved order pads, click the "View my Saved
Order Pad(s)" link in the Order Center or the "View All
Saved Order Pads" button on the Order Pad page. To save additional
items to an already saved order pad, click on the "Save Order
Pad" button. A pop up window will appear advising you that
an order pad already exists with the same name and if you want
to replace the contents with your current order pad. Click the "OK"
button if you want to save the order pad with the same reference
name/number, or change the reference name/number to save the contents
to a new saved order pad.

Placing an Order
Before placing your order, please verify all of the information
for the items you have selected on the order pad. You will be able
to delete or add any item before continuing with the checkout process.
To delete an item, click on the trash can at the end of the item.
To cancel the order, click the "Cancel Order" button at
the bottom of the page. (Canceling an order will delete all items
from the order pad. To save the order pad without ordering, click
the "Save This Order Pad" button to save the displayed
order pad.)
Once you have verified all the information on your order pad, click
the "Checkout" button to place your order. To check out,
you must be registered as a Steven Engineering online customer.
You must also be logged in; if you are not, you will be asked to
do so before continuing.
Continue the checkout process by confirming your billing and shipping
addresses, payment method and shipping method. You can make final
changes to your order information by clicking the "Change Info"
button on the top right of each section. You can also update your
quantities by retyping the amount in the "Ordered Quantity"
field for the line item and then clicking "Modify Order Pad".
Selecting an Order Type
Before checking out you can select an order type by clicking "Change
Order Type" button. By selecting an order type, it controls
the status and shipment schedule for your order. You can submit
a quote request or arrange the shipment schedule for a future date
(for the entire order, for part of the order, or for specific quantities),
or arrange to have your order shipped complete:
- Blanket Order:
An order that has multiple scheduled release dates.
- Future Order:
An order with one designated future delivery date for the entire
order.
- Request for
Quote: An order requiring a Sales Representative to contact
you for appropriate pricing prior to placing the order. By selecting
"Request for Quote" you will be contacted shortly with
the appropriate pricing for your items. If you select this order
type, you do not need to type in a purchase order number.
- Sales Order:
Your order will be processed immediately. This is the default
for orders that have actual pricing for all items in your order
pad. Orders that have "Quote" displayed for price will
default to the "Request for Quote" order type.
- Ship Complete: Your order
is shipped when all items are available.
Note: If your order pad contains items all
with "QUOTE" as the unit price, the system will automatically
assign "Request for Quote" as its order type. If your order
pad contains items with a few having "QUOTE" as the unit
price, the system will automatically assign "Sales Order"
as its order type. See details on how to change the order type above.
Once you have verified all the information, type in a purchase order
number in the appropriate field. Click the "Place Order"
button. The Order Confirmation page will appear with a summary of
your order. To print a copy of your order, click the "Print
Order" button at the bottom of the page. A copy of your completed
order will also be e-mailed to your registered e-mail address.
Note: If you do not see the "Place Order" button, you
may have items that are restricted for sale in your geographic territory
in your order pad. To checkout, delete the items with a purple flag.
If this is not the case, you may be ordering an NCNR (non cancelable,
nonreturnable) item with C.O.D. as your payment method. To checkout,
change your payment method to either Credit Card, Open Account,
or EFT/ACH (Electronic File Transfer).
When your order has been placed, Steven Engineering will immediately
verify the order pricing and send a confirmation either by fax,
phone or e-mail. You will be able to review the status of the order
the following day, receive updated information on your order, and
track the order online on the Steven Engineering website. In the
event that there is a problem with the submitted order, you will
be contacted by one of our Sales Representatives directly. Information
on inventory, lead time, and orders are updated on a nightly basis.
