A combination starter combines a motor starter with a power disconnect in an enclosure. The power disconnect can be a fusible or non-fusible switch, a circuit breaker, or a motor-circuit protector. This combination of features provides motor isolation, motor-overload protection, and short-circuit protection in one unit.
